Mobile App 2.0 -- Alerts
The video below goes over how to setup sensor alerts within Mobile App 2.0.
Audio Transcript:
Sensor alerts are rules that send out either an email or a text message to the specified recipients whenever a sensor reading goes outside of desired bounds.
In this example, we'll choose a sensor, select a comparison (either above or below), select a threshold, and select a time of day. For the time of day field, we can choose all day, day only, night only, or a custom time.
Next, select a minimum duration for the alert. I'd recommend at least a minute or two, to ensure that one does not get spammed with alerts if there is a high variance in sensor readings triggering and resolving alerts rapidly.
Next, specify the emails that you want to receive an alert.
In this example, when this VWC sensor goes below 20%, it will send out alerts to this example email address.
You can also add your phone number by using your phone carrier's email to SMS Service. For Verison, this would be number@vtext.com. This email to SMS domain will vary based on your phone provider. You can find that within Google if you need any further assistance or reach out to our support team with any questions.
Once we have all of these fields filled out, the summary sentence will populate explaining the logic we're trying to implement. In this case, if the sensor falls beneath 20% moisture content for more than two minutes, it'll shoot out an email to this example email and try and shoot a text message towards this phone number using your phone provider's email to SMS service to notify you. If you enable send push notifications, you'll also get a push notification on your phone when this alert gets triggered.
All that's left past this point is to hit add alert to save this config to the controller.
