The video below goes over how rename sensors and devices as well as update device types within the Growlink Mobile App. This video and others can be found at our Growlink University webpage.

Hey, this is Josh with Growlink and in today's walkthrough we'll be going over how to update the names and device types associated with your sensors or devices within the Growlink mobile app.
You'll start by logging into the mobile app, tapping the settings cog wheel in the top right, and then tapping the Configure Equipment button in the Settings tab.
From there, you'll select your device or your sensor.
In this case, we'll choose the example controller, and then we'll Scroll down to the sets of sensors and devices associated with this controller.
Since a PIC can have sensors and devices connected to them, we can demonstrate both on this one controller.
For example, if we select the Substrate Moisture 1 sensor, we can rename this sensor reading, which makes it easier to track.
So instead, we can call this zone A Moisture and save that change.
Once that's saved, if you're trying to call this sensor in a rule or set up an alert, it'd be easier to identify with the name that you've just input for it.
As for devices, if you were to select a device such as Valve 1, you can not only change the name of this valve, we'll call it zone A valve in this case, but we can also change its device type.
For PIC’s, there's not very many choices to choose from, but if you have an environmental panel, there's a wide array of device types that you can use to set your devices to make them easier to identify and group by their device type.
In this case, we could set this to be Batch Tank to give it a different device type, and if you wanted to save those changes, we'll tap the floppy disk icon in the top right.
With those changes saved, a config update will get pushed to the controller and when you make your rules, it will reference the new name and the new device type will show up in the Devices tab if there's a new icon associated with that device type.
This concludes how you update both the names and devices types for sensors and devices within the Growlink mobile app.
