Inventory Triggers for Action Items

In this article, we cover inventory triggers and how to configure them inside of your action items to finalize data and update your inventory.

Prerequisites

Inventory Triggers

Inventory triggers provide a way to update your inventory (plants, lots, packages, or materials) through Action Items.

Inventory triggers are an optional field you can add to any Action Item.

  • After you add an inventory trigger to the action item, there will now be a “Finalize” button inside the action buttons within a cycle event or calendar task:

How to Configure an Inventory Trigger

  • In the Task Types page, click on the Action Item you wish to add the inventory trigger
  • Click the Inventory Trigger field, which will open a dropdown
  • Select the type of Inventory Trigger to apply to the Action Item

There are several types of inventory triggers:

  • Move Plant
  • Move Batch
  • Change Plants in Batch Growth Phases
  • Change Plant Growth Phase
  • Change Batch Growth Phase
  • Allocate Plants to Grid
  • Destroy Plant
  • Destroy Plants in Batch
  • Destroy Batch

Required Fields for each Inventory Trigger

Each of the inventory triggers has a set of fields required for accurate submission.

  • After you select an inventory trigger, the required fields will be pre-loaded as fields for the action item.
  • These fields cannot be removed as each field is required to process the inventory trigger properly.
  • If there are dropdown options in one of the required fields, you can edit these options.
  • You can always add additional fields to the action item.

How to Process an Inventory Trigger

  • Inside a cycle, navigate to an instance of the action item that you set up the inventory trigger.
  • Click "+ Insert Row" and fill out the form to submit your data for the action item.

  • To finalize the data, click the check box next to the row of data you submitted.
  • Click the “Finalize” button:
  • Review the data and click "Submit" to finalize the inventory trigger
  • The inventory trigger should have updated your inventory successfully based on the data you submitted.
