Within Portal 2.0, any alerts sent towards your username can be located at your alerts inbox. The Alerts inbox can be accessed by clicking the bell icon at the top right Portal 2.0’s UI, or clicking the user icon and hitting ‘Inbox’ option in the drop-down menu that populates:
The Alerts Inbox will display any unread alerts by default:
However, one can filter the alerts being displayed by tapping the Filter icon on the right-hand side of the UI. The available filters are by the controller the alert is made under (Room), If the alert is active or has resolved (Status), the type of alert generated (Type), and a checkbox to display only unread alerts:
In order to clean up your inbox, you can mark all of the current alerts as Read, which will hide them from being displayed unless you are allowing read alerts to be displayed as one of the available filters:
In order to view past alerts, one can de-select the ‘Unread Only’ checkbox filter and all previous alerts will display:
This allows the user to check through previous alerts sent and coupled with the filtering options available, search for particular alerts that are currently active or have since been resolved.
