Hey, this is Josh with Growlink and in today's walkthrough we'll be going over user roles and permissions within Portal 2.0.
If you're an admin that has access to both your subscription and for managing users, you can access the ‘Manage Users’ tab by tapping your user icon in the top right, followed by selecting the Manage users tab.
Within the Manage users tab you can select the users and underneath that user you can see there's a role drop down.
The Owned Controllers Only role only allows a user to see controllers that are registered specifically to their username. This is most commonly used with customers that only own a single controller and are growing by themselves.
The Read-Only Admin role is a role that only allows a user to look at sensor data from the controller and view the current device states for the controller. A Read-Only Admin cannot make any edits to rules or make any edits to device states, but if they have the ‘Can Trigger Manual Tasks’ permission they are able to start and stop manual tasks that are already configured.
An Organization Admin is the typical rule that a cultivator would have. An Organization Admin has the ability to view all controllers underneath the account, the ability to change any rule configurations, and manually make changes to any device states.
A Domain Admin is meant for multi-state organizations where they have many sister sites spread across a nation. A Domain Admin is able to toggle between sites within their domain.
So say if they had a site in Pennsylvania and a site in Maryland, an organization admin would only be able to see one of those sites, the sites that they're assigned to, but a domain admin would be able to see both sites and control devices and configure rules in either sister site.
An additional level of permissions is the ‘Can Trigger Manual Task’ toggle.
If a user is a read only admin and this can trigger manual task toggle is enabled, This allows the Read-Only Admin to trigger manual tasks. The user can't change the configuration of those rules or change the device states of devices, but he can hit the play and stop buttons on manual tasks.
This concludes the User Roles walkthrough within Portal 2.0.
